Dreamforce ’13: Recap

Dreamforce ’13 has been an amazing experience. I hope everyone involved with the platform participated in Dreamforce in one way or another. Maybe you followed the #DF13 hashtag, the #devzone hashtag, or maybe even watched it on Salesforce LIVE. Any way you participated, I hope you agree it was a great conference.

My Hotel

I was lucky enough to have my company, Trifecta Technologies, get me a very nice room on the 29th floor of the Westin on Market St. I was very close to the Moscone Center and had a great view (even though I was rarely in the room).

Developer Zone

From my perspective, I was blown away by the quality of the technical presentations this year. From the moment I walked into the Developer Zone and watched the live performance of the Safe Harbor agreement I knew it was going to be a great.

Scott Geosits’ session was one of my favorites. It was an introduction to e-commerce on Heroku and Salesforce.

Outside of sessions, I had a great time just walking around, hanging out with cool people, and generally just spending some time in the Dev Zone!

I also got some great reading material too!

Developer Keynote

At the developer keynote, everyone was so excited to see what Salesforce1 could do and even more excited about CLI (well, at least I was).

MVP Event

The MVP Event on Monday was amazing. I met so many intelligent, fun people. We were taken out on the bay on a yacht named the San Francisco Spirit. We had a delicious catered dinner with some beer/wine. I was too busy talking with other people to snap a bunch of pictures, but I was able to snag this shot just before going under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Salesforce StackExchange Breakfast

One of my favorite moments of the entire conference was the Salesforce StackExchange breakfast. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the StackExchange session Matt Lacey and Pat Patterson did on Monday (when drinks were originally planned), but after meeting up with Ritesh Aswaney on Wednesday, it was decided to have a SFSE breakfast the following morning. With a few quick tweets, we were able to get a few of the guys together. Hopefully next year we can plan this more than 12 hours in advance and get more people involved. Either way, it was a memorable experience and great to meet some ridiculously talented individuals.

Coming Home

As with all good things, they eventually come to an end. It was a great week in San Francisco, but I am happy to be back at home with my girlfriend Sam and our English Bulldog puppy Lunchbox! I hope everyone had as good a time as I did and I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
