Salesforce1 Developer Week Was Amazing!

Saturday, May 3rd, 2014, concluded Salesforce1 Developer Week. It was awesome! I had so much fun working with the Lehigh Valley Salesforce Developer User Group this week. Being able to participate with user groups in 60+ cities around the world, all working in conjunction to teach the Salesforce1 platform was just an amazing experience. We had our best turn out to date for the user group too. I kicked the meeting off with a short but sweet presentation on Salesforce1. We then followed it up with a hands-on hour long session going through the Salesforce1 Mobile Workbook. The feedback we got was amazing. People couldn’t believe what was capable with Salesforce1 and they were excited to take what they had learned and start using it!

Overall, Salesforce1 Developer Week has been a huge success in my mind. Just check out Twitter’s #s1devweek hashtag to see how many people it has effected. Several user groups were reporting record breaking attendance! With so many people participating, it is easy to see how much the Salesforce Developer community has grown even in the short few months since Dreamforce. Salesforce is on the rise and the Salesforce Developer community is growing right along with it. Being a Salesforce Developer right now is by far one of the best spots to be in right now in our industry. It is one of the most desired skills in the market. The beauty of it is that anyone can start down the path to joining the ranks. All you need to do is attend some of these meet ups, create a free developer org, and start making your own apps! Before you know it, you will be a Salesforce expert! At that point, you can control your own destiny! Join our ranks! Become a Salesforce Developer!

As a side note, I want to say a huge congrats to fellow LVSFDCDUG co-leader Peter Knolle for recently being named a Force.com MVP in the Spring ’14 class. I have known Peter for a few years now and he is just an awesome, talented individual. It was very well deserved and he provides a ton of great information. If for some reason you haven’t already started following him, you can find great info from him on his blog, his Twitter (@peterknolle), or on the Salesforce StackExchange. Congrats Peter!
